Strength to keep going

This is probably a ridiculous post but here it goes. I’ve been fasting for one week and am down 6 lbs (180 to 174). Some may be water weight but I’m feeling great, my clothing is fitting better etc. I know this can work (even though I’ve blamed pcos in the past for the inability to lose weight) if I keep going. Soooo, how and where does one find the strength from to keep going long term? Any tips on what worked for you?

Pretty much what you said, stuff just started fitting way better, then needed new clothes. Then I started donating everything that was too big so I have no option to go back lol I love being to grab anything from my closet and it just fits & looks good, I don’t know the last time I needed to try a ton of things on before I felt ok in something

Its been a few years and I still do it, now I just more calculate the week out then daily. I keep S-T low, then Fri/Sat I can go out, drink, have snacks without worrying

In my experience it takes a few weeks to acclimate to IF, so the good news is it will get easier the longer you do it. For those first 2-3 weeks, if you’re really struggling go ahead and have an apple or something - this isn’t an all or nothing thing. Beyond that, it helps to be/keep busy during your fasting time, and results are a great motivator to keep going. In addition, I only do IF 6 days/week (Sundays are exempt) which gives me a “break” to look forward to if I need it. And lastly, you can modify your IF once you reach your goals - I was 20/4 (basically OMAD with some snacking after dinner) while actively losing, but more like 18:6 maintaining.
