I am looking at sugar-free preserves label and it lists 10 calories per serving, but 5g carbs. Something isn’t adding up to me, can someone help clear this up?
Not all carbs are 4 kcal/g. Take a look at the ingredients list for whatever product you’re interested in. I’m looking at Smucker’s Strawberry Sugar Free Preserves as an example, and the third ingredient on the list is polydextrose which is only 1 kcal/g. Other types of fiber and artificial sweeteners and things like may also be <4 kcal/g.
