Tips for getting back into it.

I dabbled in IF a couple years ago and I really loved how I felt. I wanted to get back at it again but I am having the hardest time. I get about 6 hours into a fast and I want to snack. I’m eating sufficient calories during the fast and drinking plenty of water. Any tips or tricks that you would recomend would be awsome!

I’m having a hard time getting back into it myself after about 2 months or so! I just started yesterday and broke early as well. But, one thing I found that’s helping is kinda obvious but helps to hear sometimes: try not to be too hard on yourself and keep up with starting everyday. Even if you can’t finish, starting is always the hardest part. After a couple of years your body is used to a set routine; breaking it can be hard but definitely doable. Not much “advice” here but best of luck! I’ll be watching this post for my own benefit as well lol.

Just keep at it, it gets easier. When that craving hits try and hold out for 30 minutes, because those hunger signals come in waves. Those signals are not always about the body physically needing those calories. It’s a learned response to sights, smells, schedule, etc. For instance, if you always have a cookie at a certain time your body starts expecting it and will send signals accordingly “hey it’s cookie time!”. The good news is the reverse is also true, the more you break from those old habits the less strongly the body sends out the signals.
