Here’s my two cents, no one can tell you definitively what’s going to ‘break a fast’ for your body. It’s somewhere between water and a cheeseburger. The body doesn’t even really have these big on/off switches where suddenly at 15 calories of oatmilk instead of 14 everything grinds to a halt.
Rather than trying to find the biological edge, I think the better question to ask oneself is why are you fasting. Someone that’s fasting for a specific medical or religious reason is most likely going to be strict to no calories and only water. Someone fasting for general wellness probably extends to black coffee, tea, lemon water, etc. And someone fasting for weight loss, there’s an argument that almost anything that gets you to your next meal without eating is worth it. But also that any calories that could be avoided should.
My approach is it depends more on your intent and goals than what’s happening strictly physiologically.
Why do people over complicate this? Decide what ur goals are and align ur actions to it for as long as it’s important to to. Do this and you’ll start inventory why ur doing stuff and the decisions are a lot clearer
