Work out times and variations [question]

Hello beautiful people,

I have two maybe silly questions I was hoping you could help answer!

(1) I generally fast 16:8– I tend to work out during the fasting window. Does the timing of my workout matter at all to weight loss? I’ve been using the Zero app (and I’m in love!), and I run during the catabolic stage most of the time. I’m just curious!!

(2) This is going to sound a bit strange maybe but 16:8 is easy for me- to the point I sometimes hit 18 hours of fasting without realizing it. Does anyone have any recommendations to add variations on fasting? Like doing 16:8 6 days a week and throwing a 20 hour in there? Does it make any sort of difference?

Thanks all!! Good luck and best wishes to all your day!

Answer

  1. Nope it doesn’t matter. you can train whenever is most convenient for you.

  2. Fasting windows are arbitrary and don’t make any significant difference as the primary goal of fasting windows is moderating hunger and preventing over eating. You can adjust that window based on what works for you. And yes you can adjust it based on how things are going on any given day.

Answer

  1. I’m not sure because I haven’t fully looked into it.

  2. Yes definitely throw in longer fasts whenever you can because the longer you go without food other benefits start to kick in. That’s a lot research on this.
