30 day fast

i’m going to attempt to complete a 30 day fast starting tonight at 8pm does anyone want to join me i think it will help keep me accountable! (doesn’t have to be 30 days even OMAD) I’ve done multiple 7 day fasts and on and off OMAD for around 3 years now I think it’s time i push myself!

people seem to be downvoting your comments, so I’m unsure if they’re familiar with r/fasting. many people have done full fasts of this nature, or even longer, safely.

the fact you’ve done 7 day fasts is encouraging. please stay hydrated (not just water, but electrolytes and minerals). HOWEVER, i think trying a smaller increment like 10 or 14 days is safer than jumping in to 30 days. but many people say it “levels off” and feels the same after the first 3 days, so idk.

keep us updated please, rooting for you!

Answer

I have a cousin who is a retired marine living in the Philippines. He cycles every day in the humid heat and he has consistently done 30 day fasts for the last 20 years. Obviously, you need water and electrolytes but everyone who is saying “sounds dangerous” is saying that out of pure ignorance. These are the same people who, before joining intermittent fasting, would’ve said that IF/OMAD also “sounds dangerous”.
sigh I’ll be here waiting for my downvotes because feelings trump facts every time on Reddit.
