Anyone have any good tips to make it past 15-20 hours or so. I have been fasting for a while but, I have been struggling lately to make it a full day. I drink a lot of water but still can’t seem to get through. Should I incorporate tea, coffee into it etc.? I usually have one coffee but that’s about it. I know I suck because I can’t even make it a day but would appreciate some advice!!!
First off, you don’t suck so drop the negative language. That won’t help at all. You are starting a lifestyle change and change takes time. Be proud of yourself for taking the step to start in the first place! Aim for 16/8 consistently to start. Make sure you are eating well in your feeding window. Avoid processed carbs and added sugar as much as you can. Go for protein, good fat (avocado, nuts), and whole foods. That will keep you satiated longer which is key to getting through those last few hours. It can help to have some salt in the water too. Just a pinch of sea or Himalayan salt helps with any hunger pains I’ve noticed. LMNT salt supplement adds flavor to the salt, and there is no sweetener of any kind. I use them off and on (severely diluted) and I find it makes the water regimen go easier.
Just remember you got this! You are taking the steps and you can do it!
I usually get hungry at that time, so that’s when I do my cardio, and that can push off hunger and eating for 2-3 hours for me. Obviously you need to have somewhat of a flexible schedule for that to work.
