I’ve been developing really unhealthy eating habits for the first time in m my life - and I want to reboot with a fast. I’m not much of a planner and kinda jus want to go for it - just water.
It’s this irresponsible? Impossible? Unlikely?
🙂
I “just did it” and I’m at the end of day 6. Starting weight was 320lbs and now I am under 300. You don’t need to supplement if you’re overweight - your body will take care of this. Drink spring water instead of distilled since it still has the minerals in it. When your legs go jelly, just grind a bit of sea salt (or better yet, pink Himalayan salt for more minerals) in the water to recharge the battery. This is because most of the weight that you lose initially is water, which takes the sodium out of your system, which is required.
Don’t overdo it on the salt - start light and then do more if needed. I will need to buy a new belt next week.
EDIT - your urine should settle into a nearly clear color. If you have darker urine, then stop and see a doctor. That said, there is always risk in this and you should see a doctor beforehand as well.
No need to plan, nothing to buy. I’d say 24-72 hours may be a good start, but you can do more than that if you want. Don’t drink a ridiculous amount of water. Keep it under a gallon over the course of the day.
In August 3rd at 11:30pm my wife texted me an article by Dr. Mercola and Dr. Fung. I decided right there and then to fast. I fasted 4 days lost 10lbs. In all I’ve fasted 3 times first 2 times for 4 days, I’m in my 3rd fast going on my sixth day. I’ve lost 23 lbs. my goal is another 20 lbs.
Some are just better at ripping the bandaids off. Just do it and figure it out as it goes. Personally I did keto and then went to IF (ate between 11am and 7pm) and then went OMAD. The prep still didn’t make it easier and my max has been just nearly 6 days (5 days 22 hours).
