Foods to break fast with?

I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations of foods to break a fast with. I’ve read somewhere that you shouldn’t combine fats with carbs after a fast. Is this true?

Another one was breaking fast with bone broth, because of the collagen.

What do you guys think? I’m still new to fasting and kind of confused and overwhelmed with all the info available.

I always eat real foods such as cheese and bacon but some suggest cucumbers, coconut water, etc. Try several and see how you do. I would def. try to avoid loading up on carbs (specially processed carbs). Good luck!

It also depends on how long you’ve been fasting. I’ve found that after 48 hours I’ll get a little diarrhea no matter how I eat. If I’ve only been fasting 3-4 days, I pretty much just break my fast by eating normally. I eat low carb as it is, and won’t break it with sugar alcohols, inulin, or other food that can ferment in the colon. I broke a fast with a Lily’s chocolate bar once and thought my colon was going to explode inside my abdomen. Not fun and very smelly.

If I’ve been fasting four or more days, I eat the same foods, but I start very slow and feel things out.
