the title pretty much explains it. im on a keto diet aswell as an 18:6 fast, im eating protein and healthy fats hut after about 3 hours im hungry again. i cant stand the taste of black coffee so using caffeine to manage my appetite seems to be off the table :( does anyone have any tips on how to battle the hunger better?
A lot of it is mental. You just have to push through it.
I usually have water or hot tea. And keeping busy is important. If you can change your tasks, that can also get your mind off of food.
If you can take a walk during that time, or do something kind of active, that can help.
The uncomfortable truth is that it’s going to take a while to get used to any fasting schedule. How long have you been doing 18/6? Drink plenty of water and keep yourself busy to distract from the hunger! Over time, it should get easier.
Dehydration can present like hunger. Drink lots of water.
I think with a high protein diet and IF you need much more salt than just IF alone.
If you need more salt, you can add a dash of salt to your water.
Fasting is good with trying to overcome your attachment to food, a lot of the time when you’re hungry you’re most likely in need of hydration, especially if you’re eating high fat there’s no way your body needs to eat within 3 hours of fasting. Try drinking plenty more water, and also carbonated calorie free beverages help with appetite suppression
