I need motivation - roast me if you will

Okay so I am in college and I keep using it as an excuse to eat and then break my fast. I seem to be going into a cycle where I fast for 24 hr and then convince myself that I should eat. Please how do I stop because every time I do eat I regret it and then start fasting again. My goal is usually 5 days but I can’t seem to ever make it there :(

Answer

Opposite mentality will serve you better! You need to stop beating yourself up and instead have some self-compassion towards your achievement. Each hour further towards your goal is an accomplishment you need to celebrate.

You’re building a skill so allow yourself the grace to actually build it! 24 hours is a great foundation, too. If you’re really struggling with the barrier, try starting your fast the night before so when you feel like you’re going to crack, you can just go to bed and sail past 24. Maybe seeing a big jump will motivate you not to break and go further

Why go straight to 5 days?

Set a goal, hit it, then go for more: 24 hours, 36 hours, 48 hours, 60 hours, 72 hours, 84 hours, 96 hours, 108 hours, 120 hours.

If I wanted to Bench 225 lbs, I wouldn’t start with that weight, I’d start with the bar and add weight over a period of time. Same idea. Although to be honest once you’ve gone 72 hours it’s a lot easier to just keep going. Work fasting like a muscle.
