Congratulations! You’ve chosen what is, in my opinion, the absolute most efficient fasting schedule for significant weight loss. I lost 172 pounds in 11 months by doing Rolling 72s, occasional extended fasts, & eating low-glycemic food.

You can do this! Rolling 72s are great (it’s what my current schedule is and has been since June). If you’ve chosen a rolling 72, you’ve obviously done your research–you’re prepared. You know what it’s all about, you just have to stick to the plan and you’re entirely capable of it. But just remember that fasting and discipline are muscles. The more you flex it, the easier it gets. The first couple will be hard, but be patient with yourself.

If you only get 48 hours, that’s okay, just aim for 49 the next time. 50 the next. And soon you’ll be hitting 72s with no problems.

If life events come up, enjoy them. Fasting is flexible, not rigid. I’ve broken early for migraines and I’ve broken early for my SO’s birthday and allowing myself to break and start up the next day made it easy for me to live it, instead of breathe it. It’s a part of my life now, not the focus, which is important and healthy.
