Does the amount of a food affect how much insulin levels spike? Like, if I were to cut a cup of white rice with a cup of cauliflower rice, effectively making the amount of white rice I consume in half, would it spike my insulin levels less?

Or is it like an all or nothing type thing where any presence of white rice would spike my insulin levels the same regardless of how much?

Hey all,

My wife and I are trying to lose some weight and need some help determining what to use for post workout recovery. We have different body types and sizes. I’m 6’3 280, fairly active (4 workouts per week plus sports 1 day a week in the winter, flips in the summer). Wife is 5’3 135 and works out 3-4 days a week).

We’d like some advice on what to use. I try to avoid acesulfame potassium, sucralose, any of those artificial sweeteners. My wife just wants something that tastes good.

Previously we’ve bought whey or casein protein powders, mainly GNC brand, but we’d like to get some information on what is actually good for us.

Thanks!

Hello all,
So recently I’ve been using wasabi sauce quite a bit (which is mostly just horseradish, at least here in the US, and not actually made from wasabi). I was wondering - is it possible to have too much horseradish in one’s diet, and what would the negative effects be? Conversely, are there any positive effects? Note, I’m not really worried about the acute side effects of eating too much at once, although information to that effect could also be interesting.

Hi, quick question, can anyone please direct me to some literature or websites that have a great cleat caloric guide? I do not have Smartphone so cannot get any apps. Reason I am asking is that my understanding is that some packages do not give clear or correct calories of their products and I really want to make it easier instead of counting each gram of fat + protein + carb for every single ingredient for every single meal that I cook.

Thank you in advance!!!
