Weight loss after 27 days of dry fasting!

I’m 35 y/o 6’0” and hit 211+ lbs shortly after Christmas (the heaviest I’ve ever been in my entire life). Used to be around 170 prior to this.

Made up my mind to lose 40 lbs this year using via an aggressive calorie deficit. My daily routine is pretty firm as I’ve been sticking to the following:

I’m F44, also 6’ tall and I’m currently 172lb. I was 215 two years ago! I lost it all (to 165 lb) in 8 months and maintained in the 168-178 lb range since then, averaging at 172. Trying now to get to 165 and maintain there, as I want to start running in March and have weak knees. My body seems to think that 172 is its weight haha. But I want t minimize the strain on my knees. I used to be 160 in my twenties, so I think 165 is reasonable!

Anyway, just wanted to share how I lost it, in case you’d want some variety and flexibility later on. I personally find that the having different fasting schedules available at my disposal makes the journey easier and more fun.

I did ADF (alternate day fasting), which I loved much more than OMAD. I didn’t start Dry Fasting until 6 or so months ago (this past summer). I also started doing 7 days fasts (2 or 3 days dry (once 4 days), the rest water fasting).

Anyway, good luck to you! I also started my ADF fasting journey around this time 2 years ago (late December) and I can’t believe how easy it was (in retrospect haha), and how great I feel at 172ish lbs! You will get there!!! It will be amazing!!!

Hey I’m wondering what kind of work you do to be able to handle 20 hours of dry fasting.

I ask because I work as a cook in a very busy kitchen. I do 16-24 hour water fasts because I get thirsty running nonstop all day long but I’ve been wanting to try a dry fast and your post seems like something I could stick to if I can make it through 12 hours a day at work.
