My experience / theory is that once you reach a healthier weight, losing additional weight becomes more difficult and fasting becomes harder. This may because your very intelligent body is unwilling to come so close to the edge of survivability, and jacks up the hunger hormones. This causes you to make consuming food more of a priority than previously. In short, it changes your priorities for you. Been doing EF for over 5 years and lost over 50 pounds the first year. Maintained same body weight for past 4 years. Trust your body.
Could also be the electrolytes.
Sounds like PEM (Post Exertion Malaise), but even if it isn’t the remedy is the same. Get into fasting ketosis and when the Hordes of Detox start to overwhelm you, have a small “fasting friendly” meal (a 400-700 calorie green smoothie works for me), collect yourself for 90 minutes or so and get right back to work. Just keep chipping away at it and soon you’ll feel normal again. This happened to me after I recovered from pneumonia a few years ago. My usual fasting protocols became extra tough, so I just eased into it and took a few extra breaks with fasting friendly smoothies. Good luck!
