Answer

Not unhealthy at all if it fits into your daily macros and aligns with your goals. My toddler is obsessed with meat / fat / fruits / veggies.

Although if you’re trying to lose weight, draining the fat will definitely save you calories.

Answer

I love beef and beef fat and know and understand that beef is healthy- however, please only buy organic, grass fed beef. This is the beef that is full of nutrients and awesome to eat on a regular basis. Conventional beef that was fed grain/soy feed is lacking in nutrients and inflammatory.

Answer

We would have to narrow down the question a bit to get closer to the answers. Fat is a general term and let’s try to be a bit more specific. What type of fat are we really talking about? As it happens we are often talking about cholesterol and saturated fat. Whilst there has been some advice in the past that this type of fat is bad modern times are starting to question this advice. At some point in all this confusion you might have to take your own opinion into account. Personally I believe that the type of saturated fat from a good ground beef is probably good for you but other types of saturated fat from more processed and manufactured foods might not be. There is obviously more to learn about saturated fat and it’s a blanket term that is not actually useful when talking about foods. So, there is an argument that the quality of the saturated fat you might eat and what and how you eat it plays a part. This site explains a certain amount of the controversy. Basically it seems we are not as sure as we once were. We don’t know. If you are going to eat minced beef at all in light of the fashion for blaming it for everything then I would suggest it’s ok to eat the fat also. If you want to play it safe with older advice then drain it and eat lean beef. If you want even older advice then eat it again like our ancestors. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/saturated-fat#:~:text=Reducing%20saturated%20fat%20intake%20has,events%2C%20but%20results%20are%20mixed.
