I’m just starting with IF. I’ve been trying to lose my pregnancy weight for 3 years 🤨 without success.
I am doing a 6/18 day. I’m on day three. Is it OK to shift the window to accommodate our activities? Yesterday my window was 11-5 and today it will probably be 730-230. How often do you weigh yourself? During fasting times I’ve been drinking water and herbal teas.
Hi!I am on my first proper 14:10 fast. Only drinking water during my fast period. I did super well and lost 4kg during September with 16:8 to 18/6. After my birthday on October 1 my mental health took a dive and my emotional eating took hold. Between October 2 and December 18 I have gained it all back. Wish me luck getting back on the wagon
Hi! Wondering if anyone can give me a little direction. I’ve been doing IF it close to a month (18/6 & 16/8). Zero calories during fasting. Breaking fast with overall healthy and nutritious food. I’ve been exercising 2-4 times a week, peloton and walk. IVE LOST NO LBS!!Am I doing something wrong?I see all these super inspirational pics and can’t help but wonder what I should be doing different?Any advice is appreciated 😊I’m an active 47yo F 5’5” SW 174 CW 174
Type: IF, occasional 24-48 hot water fasts.
Context: Going “steadily” on IF for 3 months, did half-hearted IF for the last year.
Length: eating window varies depending on how hungry I am feeling. Generally go from from 12/1pm - 6pm.
Why? Weight-loss/overall health improvement. Who else gained the l quarantine 15….or 50?? lol so bad, I know. But working on that.
Notes: I’ll be doing pretty solid for a while and have lost 55 lbs in the last year (so back to my pre covid weight, yay!) 17 of those lbs lost in the past three months when I got more diligent about sticking to a plan.
I have learned I actually don’t mind eating the same meals over and over so that makes meal prep awesome and easy. Stress is definitely a trigger for me and I have used snacking as a crutch in the past. To help prevent grazing, I have to write everything down I eat. Helps hold myself accountable! I’m working on finding a therapist to help me deal with some anxiety related issues not related to fasting. I’ve been dipping my toe into mindfulness and positive thinking patterns as a bonus tool. Has anyone found any good mindfulness apps they like that may also have a nutrition component (not even sure this exists but maybe)?
Concerns would be:Christmas time indulgence :( Sweets are my weakness, which I keep at bay with a chocolate/pb protein shake daily but I’m debating on if its “worth” falling off the wagon for a few days during holiday dinners or if it’ll be too much of a backslide for me.
I have had a slower time than I anticipated with loosing the weight. Right now, I have to go do earth weight loss only. I’m currently on bed rest prior to surgery (so no exercise is allowed for a total of about 8 months). Calories- sticking to 1200 with some cheat days here or there.
Open to any advice/encouragement! :)
Hello!
I’m doing a 24 hour water fast 1x/week, beginning and ending around breakfast although I may switch to lunch on my next one to see how it goes.
I’m doing it for health, to combat inflammation in conjunction with a whole food diet. I have 10 lbs to spare so if there is weight loss I won’t complain but that’s not my primary goal.
Notes: it’s hard! I try to stay hydrated and I do have a mint now and then. Mostly I try to keep myself busy with longer projects away from any type of food. But yeah, it’s tough. My brain starts making excuses to eat as soon as the timer starts.
