How would you break a 4 day dry fast?

I’m currently at 32hrs but I aim to do 4 days dry fast minimum. How would you break a 4 day dry fast? I’ve done multiple 1-3 day dry fasts before but I thought that maybe 4 days needs a little more caution to break a fast.

First day water with baking soda? Second day fruit juices? Third day cooked food?

Answer

I would consider bone broth to replenish electrolytes and ions. Bone broth won’t really spike your insulin, and will begin to activate your digestion.

I’m weary of fruit juices as they are straight sugar without the fiber provided by the fruit itself, which seems like an important consideration.

i tried to find information on how bears refeed after hybernation, but there isn’t much info on that - but to imagine what is available in the spring might offer a clue to proper refeeding techniques.

I’m totally a lay person so take all this with a grain of salt, and good luck on your refeeding process!

Answer

I’ve never had issues with refeeding if I stick to low carb foods like eggs, meat or sardines. Eating any kind of carbs first would just spike my insulin too much and I always get the shits. Fermented dairy also works, stuff like kefir.
