Hey guys, thanks for clicking on my post.
So, lately I have been putting on a lot of weight, I dealt with a fainting anxiety after my vacc1n@tion went terribly wrong (I fainted and landed on my head) and as a result of that, I refused to go outside, I was basically laying in bed all day long or sitting on the couch, every social gathering is giving me a flashback, it makes me feel like I’m going to faint again.
I started emotional eating and it really f’ed up my body(weight). I know prolonged fasting is not a quick weightloss trick, but I actually want to improve the relationship between me and food so I can control my overeating issues and lose a little bit of weight + I want to overcome my fear of fainting, I think fasting could help to show to myself I’m powerful enough to function well without consuming any food.
Now the question is, how long should I fast? I have fasted 24/48/72 hours before and I’m experienced with taking electrolytes. I do not have any medical conditions except being overweight.
Your advice means a lot to me, thank you
I am doing alternate day fasting with good results.
Other solution is to just jot set a end goal because really what’s the point. Do it one day at a time do 24 if you feel good contine another 12h if 36 felt good do another 12 to 48 and so on until it doesn’t feel good any more then take few days break and try again. There is no prizes here for doing it longest just do what you feel comfortable with. Sustainability over efficiency any day.
In my experience, the best routine for weight loss is to do alternate-day 36-hour fasts. For example, eat dinner Sunday night, then nothing but water (and electrolytes) until breakfast on Tuesday. After dinner on Tuesday, fast until breakfast on Thursday, after Thursday dinner, fast until Saturday breakfast. and repeat. Easier if you eat keto between fasts.
Good luck!
