I try to stress to people that you shouldn’t focus tracking weight as much as tracking how you feel daily. Yes weigh yourself here and there but if you wake up or go throughout the day feeling better that will help your health more than loosing weight fast, and even if you are loosing 1/2lb a week you are still loosing and that is fantastic.

Answer

That’s about my rate of loss. We’re close in age. I’m also close to my goal weight and I don’t know your goal weight or height, but I’d guess you don’t have a ton to lose. I think those factors combined make it slow going.

I’m on the slow but steady plan, mostly staying off the scale. I assume I will get there and am happy that things are going in the right direction.

We can only lose weight as fast as our bodies are willing to do it, and there’s not really a way of speeding it up. Hang in there - I’m a F42, and peri menopausal, and I can only lose about .2 per day (often less) - but it’s still headed in the right direction, and that’s paramount!

First, track your calories by measuring and weighing to be sure you’re eating the number of calories you think you are. Most people way underestimate how much they are eating. Second, very low carb helped me a lot. When I was still losing (maintaining now), I ate usually 30-35 net carbs a day. Not quite keto low but still pretty damn low. I’m able to eat more carbs now but still probably 40-60 net carbs. Third, I eat pretty clean. Fourth, my weight loss increased a lot when I dropped almost all dairy. Now I’ve been able to add back a bit of cheese but I’m still very careful. Dairy causes inflammation which can hamper weight loss. And finally, walk or do some other workout.

1/2 per week is aok. You’re losing! Keep it up, don’t worry overmuch, you’ll be fine, maybe tweak things a bit, but it’s not gonna melt off so easy as some success stories indicate, especially given you’re not starting super obese, which are the folks posting crazy numbers.

Answer

Losing 1lb a week is considered a healthy weight loss average. So yes, you might feel disappointed to be slower than that but the fact that you’re losing means it’s working! Keep at it and you’ll get there.

Answer

Simmer down. Just keep doing what you’re doing and you’ll lose 20-25 pounds by next year. Surely you know how fast time seems to fly by. You’ll look back in a year and be amazed at how fast time went by.

  1. Trust the eating/fasting window.

  2. Eat healthy, filling foods first.

  3. Be active/Stay busy
