So I just completed a 16 day water fast. Initially I was going for 30 days, but I decided this is my limit. Also have a picture of my fasting timer that I started late (It should be an additional 16 hours). Sorry flatfishy, I won’t be able to finish NoFoodDecember.

It was easy up to the last day. On the last day, I started getting extreme hunger. I decided that it is time to stop as I’m no longer feeling good. I’m going to do another 14 day fast in January instead. However, my weight also dropped the most on the last day, from 100.8kg (222.23lb) to 99.95kg (220.35lb) to coincide with this hunger.

Here are my stats:

28 years old, 6’0

SW (16 days ago): 111kg (244.71lb)

CW (now): 99.95kg (220.35lb)

Total weight lost: 11.05kg (24.36lb) over 16 days

Initial glycogen loss (post 3rd day): 4kg (8.8lb)

Stuff that I did to maintain the long fast:

4 - 6L water daily

1/4 - 1/2 tsp Salt + 1/4 tsp KCl (Nusalt) dissolved in 250 - 500 ml 3x - 5x daily, chug it down in 3sec

600-800mg Elemental Magnesium (as magnesium bisglycinate) twice daily

Multivitamin topical patch - 2 of them in the morning

B complex patch - 1 in the morning (to reduce the risk of refeeding syndrome)

Boron 6mg daily

What I learned:

- When making electrolyte drinks, use more salt than KCl (pretty obvious, but I was figuring it out)

- 2 Multivitamin patches made me feel better than one

Also not a promotion or sponsored, but I got my topical patches from: https://www.nutri-patch.com/

Good job! I think it’s interesting about the hunger. You got hungry on the day that you lost the most weight. That’s kind of how I realized OMAD wasn’t working for me anymore. I stopped getting hungry before that one meal AND stopped losing weight. It slowed down to about 1 pound loss per month or less. I’m still about 60 pounds overweight, so it’s not like I ran out of fat to lose! Now I’m doing three 46-48 hour fasts per week and a couple OMAD’s. Sunday is usually two meals. Just mixing it up and adding the longer fasts has me losing about 3.5 pounds per week over the past three weeks.
