First 36-hour fast, and a question

So, I finished my first 36-hour this morning, and it went pretty well! I’d previously done 16/8, and had gotten pretty well back into that groove after taking a break from it for a while, and thought that I’d try a 36 with just water (or water + electrolytes) and coffee. The only rough spot was late last night, when I was tempted by dill pickles–no calories, according to the jar–and settled for a small glass of pickle juice. I also had some fiber capsules (psyllium) because I wasn’t sure how my digestive system would handle no solid input, as it were, for a day and a half. Broke my fast this morning with one of my favorite keto snacks, sliced chicken and cheese on a half pickle. (I like pickles.)

So, I’m wondering, has anyone done three 36-hour fasts per week over the long run? Like, Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday? How did it work out?

Answer

I do rolling 36 hour fasts and have had so much success. It is the only kind of fasting that I seem to enjoy. I only drink water, black tea, black coffee. Sometimes I will add a tiny bit of salt to my water. When I break my fast, I do have to be careful that I don’t refeed too quickly. The autophagy has been remarkable as well. My skin looks younger and tighter.
