First post from a newbie

I grew up not eating breakfast as I’ve never needed it. Only occasionally would I eat. I played competitive sports (soccer, football, baseball, and basketball) from 6yrs-19rs old. I then joined the military! I never gad a weight issue until my divorce. I’m a 30y(M), 6’4”, 240 lbs. My weight all my life was around 175 lbs and my current goal is 195. I started IMF just yesterday (only eating between 2-8pm) and my dinner is a big and delicious 700 calorie salad. I’m trying to eat a max of 1500 calories a day, when I’m used to around 3000. Are there any tips to make this a successful go?

16/8 is good but i find it is a pretty long window in my eyes, i think that people new to fasting do find quicker gains doing OMAD (one meal a day) if you can cope with it, i think it works better and doesn’t require the focus on calorie counting. Or call it 20:4 have dinner n a light snack, have a black coffee no sugar in the morning and get back into it.

i ate anything i wanted and dropped my 1st 20lbs in 2 months with this, that’s when my fasts started to get longer and i started to focus on what i was eating more.

I would recommend finding a way to avoid too much overload of details to start with and instead focusing on a consistent fast and yes longer is great for a number of reasons but don’t go too hard too fast you want to just be consistent, easier not to fall off the wagon that way. Im 39yo 6’0 n down to 200lbs from 245 about 4 months ago, u got this man.
