Thank you for clicking on my post, I need tips or strategies to use when water fasting. I tempt to always end my fast around the 2 day mark, it’s never because i’m super hungry or because i can’t keep going it’s always because i get tempted by food and then i can’t break that temptation. i know it’s all mentally and it’s something i should be able to control but it’s just that i’m hungry n that stays in my mind almost as a “just eat it and you can do your fast another day” that’s what goes through my mind. i try to fight it off but a lot of times it ends up winning, i want to stop doing that and i hope you guys could help me out. i’m 5’9” and i weight 171.6, i just wanted to mention that if it’s needed information. thanks for taking time to read this.
if you live alone, make sure there is no food in the house. i always cave around the 43 hour mark if there’s ANYTHING in the fridge or cupboard. i’ll fixate on it until i crack even if my tummy is fine.
also drinking a lot of water. i would keep a big jug in the bedroom so i wouldn’t have to go into the kitchen where temptation lies just to get water.
Play the tape to the end. Before you give in to the temptation remind yourself of how you will feel if you do. Also remind yourself that even a small amount will lead to giving in later. It always does. Plan your meal that will break the fast instead. Obsess about getting it right so you are satisfied when you do eat. Just advice. That usually works for me.
I’m on the same boat, been trying a 21 day fast since the end of November but I end up doing OMAD, 36h, 2 days, 3 days and then I cave because I feel the psychological need to eat (and a few manageable stomach growls).
The fact is that I binge when I finally cave, so I even recovered the 10 lbs that I lost when I was doing PSMF in October / early November.
I propose that we hold each other accountable from now on.
I’m at this moment close to 21 hours into my fast and this time I’ll see it through.
