M22, 178lbs, 5’6

Hi everyone! I’ve been looking into intermittent fasting for a few weeks now, and I’ve finally decided to start.

I’m going to stick with 16:8, which is 16 hour fast, 8 hours to eat my meals if im correct.

Im posting here in search for tips and advice,

What do you eat? What should i eat? What should i avoid?

Ex.) I’m having two boiled eggs and a cup of brown rice for lunch today, is this unhealthy?

I also want to build muscle and lose weight at the same time, any tips?

Thank you!

Just add some salt, other than that its pretty straighforward, you’ve chosen a window, all thats left is to do it and see if it works, if it doesn’t, don’t worry about it! not everyone responds to it and its not the only way to do things.

Canned sardines in water, or extra virgin olive oil - salt them to taste. Glorious

Eggs, eggs, eggs, eggs, bacon & sausage omelettes, eggs, eggs, eggs

1-2lbs 80/20 ground beef, salted to taste, eat it sizzling hot right off the cast iron — chef’s kiss

Don’t eat anything with vegetable oil in it — anything. AKA “bye bye, almost all processed food in a box”

Eat any and all meat you want to eat, unrestricted — eat until you are stuffed, everyday. No counting or measuring any damn thing.

Do this and you will profit for your whole life and be an excellently healthy human, as far as nutrition is concerned

You got this. I’m M51, SW 181, CW 171, 5’6”. I started 16:8 in early December.

I’ve only made small changes to my diet. No more cream in my coffee (really enjoy black coffee now) and reduced my carb intake. When I make pasta as a side for my kids I usually have a large salad. When we have rice I take a very small amount or have cauliflower rice instead. I love cauliflower rice!!! It can be flavored how you like, low calorie, and high in fiber so you feel fuller longer.

For lunch I don’t do meal prep but more ingredient prep. Every weekend I try to boil a lot of eggs, cook shrimp, cook chicken and have them in the fridge. So for lunch I grab some protein, some greens, some veggies, some seasoning, sometimes cheese and some dressing and I’m good until supper.

I also drink a lot of water. I find that helps a lot as well.

Good luck
