what's the minimum amount of calories on low carb OMAD does jason fung recommend?

He mentioned not overeating, like just eating one meal and slightly more, don’t try to compensate on breakfast lunch and dinner on omad.

Just one meal and a little more.

Does he actually mean we get to eat something like 500-600 calories? if one meal is 400?

Answer

He recommends eating whole foods to satiety and is not a fan of OMAD for every situation. He is also not a “calories” guy. Famously so.

“You should avoid doing OMAD if you are:Trying to lose more than 15 pounds of weightLooking to improve symptoms of metabolic syndrome and high insulin levels, such as type 2 diabetes (DMII), non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)Still in the process of working on your health goals”

Answer

Fung doesn’t recommend calorie counting. He recommends eating nutritive foods to satiety. Not too much processed foods and foods with added sugar. They mess with our satiety hormones and signals. I eat meat, vegetables, eggs, oil, butter, milk cheese, some pasta, bread and rice. I lost more than 70lbs doing that, mainly doing omad with occasional extended fasting of up to 36 hours. Now I’m maintaining.
