I honestly cannot believe it. I used to do OMAD regularly and lost 60lbs on it. Then I fell into old eating patterns and regained 50lbs. I’ve managed to lose another 10lbs over 4 months so am at net -20lbs.
I still have another 80lbs to go (SW 240, CW 218, GW 140), 31F 5’5”.
I’ve been trying so hard to get back into fasting but have given into my cravings too many times. After rereading The Obesity Code and this subreddit’s wiki, I decided I needed to do EF to manage my insulin resistance.
I was so proud of myself last night when I went to bed because I did not eat AT ALL yesterday. It’s almost 10am now and I STILL haven’t eaten and the hunger isn’t even that bad. Drinking black coffee, water, and mineral water (with appropriate electrolytes).
I feel AWESOME. I got really overheated on my walk with my dog earlier and thought it was because of the fasting (but it turns out the humidex today is out of control).
I can’t believe I did it and that I am still going. I feel so good and like I can really do this!!
FYI I did weigh myself this morning and am -2lbs. I realize that isn’t all fat, but it was such a great boost. Not going to weigh myself again until the fast is over. I want to make this multi-day and am taking it one day at a time.
Congratulations and way to go! It’s a really great feeling when you find something that you know you can maintain, once I cut the junk and added fat fasting definitely got easier for me. I think preparing the right way for each fast is at least 50% of the battle, insulin is a very tough enemy to fight. Best of luck!
That’s awesome! It sounds like there’s a second wind you hit there..
I want to start omad and fasting. I’ve read the guides but I’d like to ask you, if I may, what time did you eat your omad and also how long would you first fast for and how long until you stepped up your IF time!?
I “accidentally” did a 67 day fast before taking it one day at a time. Lol I just decided I was going to fast that day. Then woke up the next and made the same choice for that day. Repeated that 67 days.
It was awesome. The only reason I stopped was it was Tahnksgiving and I didn’t want to explain to my very large family why I wasn’t eating anything.
