Interesting thing happened

M35 5’9” 15:9 SW: 222, CW:218, GW: 185…so I just got to a month in, everything seems to be going well. Early on I noticed that if I broke my fast with eggs (I love eggs, especially runny ones with toast) I would get really nauseous. I started having granola and almond milk instead and now I’ve gotten into a groove where I only break my fast with that.

I’ve probably had 2 eggs in the past 2 weeks, for some reason they just aren’t sitting well with me anymore.

Anyone else develop food aversions or have issues with foods you used to love once starting IF?

I might have become mildly intolerant of dried legumes. Their digestion seems to require thrice the time it formerly would, yielding increased / prolonged bloating and frequent light cramp-like stomach aches along the way. Not quite serious enough for me to consider dropping the whole food group, but annoying nonetheless. Given that the symptomatology only started manifesting over the past couple of months while I’ve been on IF/OMAD for over 9 (and have included a legume-heavy day in my weekly scheduling since forever), however, I’d like to believe that the culprit is to be sought elsewhere.

Like many others, meals rich in refined grains and starches used to present me with significant performance decline for up to several hours after their consumption. Fortunately this is (almost) no longer an issue, although admittedly it took months to reach this point, when I was already about to give up hope of improvement.

Eggs I can thankfully handle just fine and virtually never miss the opportunity of supplementing my meal with one or two if I find its protein content to be lacking.

While it has yet to reach aversion level, most sweetened beverages, breads and sweets now leave me just… disappointed. I still crave them on occasion but they blatantly fail to deliver the pleasure they once used to. These days it feels like I could be content on plain meat and greens forever. Plus on that one glass of whisky I break my fast with at my local pizza place while waiting for my (bi-)monthly cheat meal to be baked. I’m worried that once I drop those latter last-remaining not-so-healthy dietary habits, I’ll most likely morph into yet another fully-grown dreaded “healthy-this, poison-that” evangelist at family reunions…

Eggs have this funny effect on me. I enjoy a single egg as part of a meal, or with toast- I can eat a 6 egg omelette as a meal quite happily… once. If i do it again soon after or even try 7 eggs. I feel sick and I’m put off eggs for quite a while. It’s literally the only food I ‘get sick of’ eating.
