Hey everyone I’m pretty new here I’m just been lurking and reading posts. I’m not new to fasting I’ve done it before about a year and a half ago. I got pregnant and was breast feeding. I’m kinda of finding it hard to get back into this time around. I’m 230lbs and 5’6. I weighed 230 while pregnant then had him and got back down to pre pregnancy weight of 197. Breastfeeding has not been nice to me as I’ve gained and gained. He just turned one this month so I’m starting back on OMAD and fasting. Before getting pregnant with him I was able to lose 40lbs doing OMAD I would have a cheat day every 3 weeks and after the cheat day I would do a 3-5 day water fast. This allowed me to lose the 40lbs in 3 months. I never felt better and my period finally became regular and boom I got pregnant just like that. I had given up on getting pregnant because it had been 10 years without ever falling pregnant and that was without protection… I have OMAD and fasting to thank for my little boy without it I don’t think it would have happened.
ANYWAYS enough about that. I’m looking to start a 10 day water fast to help me get back into the swing of things. I’ve been following OMAD for about a week and it’s been kind of a struggle so I want to retrain my brain and show it that I’m in control. If I can go longer than 10 days even better. If I can get to 5 I will be happy. But my main goal is 10 days. Anyone else starting a 10 day fast?? Post your stats here let’s support eachother!
Hi! I’m at about 100 hours of fasting. If you’re feeling any kind of lethargy I recommend drinking a quarter teaspoon of some Morton’s lite salt (which is about half potassium and half sodium) (more potassium) and a 1/2 tablespoon of liquid magnesium citrate mixed in 24 oz (or a bit more you reduce the flavor) a few times a day. I’m sure you’ve used them before. The electrolytes have made huge improvements for me. I’m going to purchase some calcium citrate tablets to help as well. I’m just going until my body says different. I’ve never felt more clear and awake in my entire life, and it’s been this way since after the 2nd day. It’s truly invigorating…. the energy boost I’ve received. I think a good idea is to set your intention on resetting your body system rather than intend to lose weight. I’ve been overweight my whole life and I randomly just decided to fast, in order to cleanse my body and do a hard reset. Once you’re past day 3 it’s smoother sailing for sure.
