i am also on day 6 of my 15 day fast, i have done few years of IF but this is the longest i have gone yet. I was thinking to start planning about refeeding schedule only in the last days to avoid getting tempted.
Damn I’m on the 6th day of my fast too. Originally planned to go 7 days but it feels easy enough to go longer. Not sure but I’m tempted to extend it…
Edit: As far as breaking the fast, I was planning on having bone broth on the day I broke it and making a soup with chicken and a lot of veggies the day after
Whatever you do, hold off on beef immediately after your fast. I made that mistake once and it was scary as hell. Never again.
I’m planning to break with a mug of homemade chicken bone broth. About 30 minutes later, I’ll eat 1 or 2 ounces of plain chicken thigh. Once the gastric juices wake up, I’ll eat more chicken and roasted vegetables for lunch. If that goes well, I’ll eat 1/4 cup roasted pumpkin seeds (pepitas) with dinner.
The broth and small amount of chicken are Dr. Fung’s recommendation. Pumpkin seeds are high in phosphorus.
You’re doing great. I just finished day 12 a few hours ago. My energy levels are still a bit low, but it’s manageable. The one thing that’s really annoying is the taste of acetone in my mouth.
Also, I recommend breaking with beef bone broth and 2 hard boiled eggs. Eat slowly.
