4 days water fasting--->10 days 16/8 IF. Thoughts?

I love having a very predictable schedule. So i thought of doing a monday to thrusday fast (96hours) every other week. This way i know that every other week from monday to thrusday it’s my fasting time. I’ve done a couple 3-5 day fasts in the past so i dont think this should be an issue. During the fasts i take sodium, potassium and magnesium, which helps tremendously in avoiding headaches and fatigue.

I’m planning on doing this till i lose 100lbs. Has anyone tried a similar method?

FYI, im a male, age 27, 5”9, 267lbs, BMI 39, fatty liver, and high blood pressure.

I had similar statistics but I’m a decade older. Now I’m about 185 and trying to reach your goal weight as well. I’m currently doing a Monday- Friday fast and yours is certainly doable if you stuck with it long term. The fasting and diet will play a larger role in weight loss, but also incorporate some exercises as well.

Be careful not to binge when you resume a regular eating schedule. Stay away from snacky foods, processed carbs, and sugary crap.

I’m not an expert in more extended fasts (just mostly lurking around this sub to help me shed the stubborn final 10lb), but this seems pretty reasonable to me.

I like a fixed schedule as well and I’ve lost serious weight on keto+IF(sometimes OMAD) with minor water fasting thrown in (never more than 2 days) to break plateaus, and I’m very happy with the results so far.

Id usually recommend starting a long-term plan with fewer fasting days at first, to make sure it works out for you in combination with keto and IF, so that you don’t get demotivated if the fast becomes unsustainable and makes you quit the entire thing. However, some people - myself very much included- get far better results once they “flip a switch” and go “all-in” from the start; and I get that impression from your post as well.

So the only thing I’d recommend is making very sure you get sufficient electrolytes during the IF days, too, (Keto flu is no joke and electrolyte deficiency is common during long-term keto as well) and breaking your fasts with some carefully considered dishes like soups and cooked veggies, not keto fat-parties (you’d think that was common sense but I had to learn the hard way)

Hm, also I have no experience either way whatsoever but there may be an impact of taking electrolyte supplements on the blood pressure? Ive heard that too-large amounts of potassium are dangerous for the heart, at least.

I’m sure you already know, if you like following a fairly set schedule like I do, but long-term sustainability is key to reap the benefits and keep it up.

FWIW, my stats are F/30/5”11/165lb down from 299, formerly pre-diabetic, not sure if I still got fatty liver tbh, but I doubt it.

Best of luck on your weight loss!
